Now Available: PENMENVY™ (GSK) Pentavalent Meningococcal Vaccine

North Carolina Immunization Program
Oct 7, 2025

North Carolina Vaccines for Children (VFC) providers can now order the pentavalent meningococcal (A,B,C,W, and Y) vaccine, PENMENVY™ (NDC 58160-757-15) via NCIR for administration to their VFC-eligible adolescents (ages 10 through 18 years).

About PENMENVY™

PENMENVY™ is licensed as a two-dose series (administered six months apart) to prevent invasive meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, B, C, W, and Y in individuals 10 through 25 years of age. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends PENMENVY™ be used when both MenACWY and MenB vaccines are indicated at the same visit:

Reminder: MenB vaccines are not interchangeable. The same vaccine (either BEXSERO by GSK or TRUMENBA® by Pfizer) must be used for all doses in the MenB series, including booster doses. The pentavalent MenABCWY product PENMENVY™ (GSK) contains MenB-4C (BEXSERO) as its MenB component; therefore, PENMENVY™ should only be used in a series with BEXSERO.

Storage and Handling

PENMENVY™ is supplied in cartons containing:

  • 10 vials of Lyophilized MenACWY Component (powder)
  • 10 prefilled TIP-LOK syringes (Luer Lock syringes) of MenB Component (liquid) packaged without needles

Prepare PENMENVY™ by reconstituting the Lyophilized MenACWY Component with the MenB Component. After reconstitution, administer a single dose (0.5mL) of PENMENVY™ via the intramuscular route.

Prior to reconstitution, PENMENVY™ must be stored refrigerated (2°C to 8°C) in the original package.
