Why it's important

Antibiotic and antifungal drugs are valuable tools for treating infections, but their use can contribute to antimicrobial resistance. Without effective antibiotics, many medical conditions will become increasingly difficult to treat.

A call to action

To slow resistance, we need to cut the unnecessary use of antibiotics. We invite health care providers and pharmacists to pledge to support the safe prescribing of antibiotics.

We have created Adult and Pediatric Antibiotic Prescribing Guidelines for the State of North Carolina. We encourage you to use these guidelines to safely prescribe antibiotics and promote best practices within your community.

Take the pledge

Tailor a pledge to show how you'll contribute to the safe prescribing of antibiotics. Once complete, you can print a certificate to display your support for antibiotic stewardship. This is a great way to showcase your contributions to combating antimicrobial resistance.

Please consider sharing the pledge with your colleagues and on social media. Your pledge shows your support for the safe prescribing of antibiotics.
