Step-by-Step Guide to Join NCIP

  • 1

    Check your eligibility

Health care providers who administer vaccines to children eligible for the federal Vaccines for Children (VFC) program can join the NCIP.

Children 18 and younger are VFC-eligible if they meet at least one of the following criteria:

    • Medicaid enrolled or eligible
    • Uninsured (no medical coverage)
    • American Indian or Alaskan Native
    • Underinsured*:
      • Commercial (private) health insurance does not cover vaccines, or
      • Insurance covers only selected vaccines (VFC-eligible for non-covered vaccines only), or
      • Insurance caps vaccine coverage at a certain amount, and the coverage amount has been reached

*Served only by deputized providers (local health departments, federally qualified health centers or rural health centers)

Providers who exclusively serve adult patients or fully insured children are not eligible to join the NCIP. NCIP enrollment is not open to pharmacies.
