New NCIR Funding Code for Vaccines for Adult (VFA) Providers

The following process is required for providers who see VFA (317)-eligible patients. Follow the steps below when placing an order for VFA (317) vaccines to ensure accurate inventory management. 

How to Place an Order for VFA (317) Vaccines

1. Indicate VFA Doses in NCIR Comments: In the comment section of the NCIR ordering page, you must indicate which vaccines and the amount that will be used for VFA (317) patients.
2. Verify Your Shipment: When the order arrives, confirm the packaging slip against the contents of the package.
3. Call the Help Desk Before Accepting Inventory: Contact the NCIP Help Desk at 1.877.873.6247 to have VFA (317) doses appropriately designated to the VFA (317) funding code PRIOR to accepting the doses into your NCIR inventory.
4. For Data Exchange Sites: If you are on data exchange, you must also ensure the VFA (317) code has been added to your EHR for the doses to decrement from your inventory correctly. Questions about data exchange can be sent to ncirdataexchange@dhhs.nc.gov.
