This email is to inform you of an important update to share regarding measles reporting, testing, and vaccination.
On June 24, 2025, NC DHHS confirmed the first case of measles in North Carolina this year. In light of this, we have attached an important memo from Dr. Zack Moore, State Epidemiologist. The memo outlines key recommendations for North Carolina clinicians on measles reporting, testing, and vaccination.
Measles continues to pose a significant threat domestically and globally, particularly among unvaccinated populations. Early identification, reporting, and vaccination are crucial to limiting the spread of this disease.
Review the attached memo for detailed guidance on how to promptly identify, report, and control the spread of measles. Please share with all your clinical staff and partners.
