The purpose of this memo is to inform NCIP-enrolled providers about ordering timelines and administration start dates for the maternal RSV vaccine ABRYSVO® and the monoclonal antibody (mAb) products Beyfortus® (nirsevimab) and ENFLONSIA™ (clesrovimab) for the upcoming RSV season.
The timing of all three products is seasonal. Providers should follow CDC’s recommended start and end dates for RSV product administration during the 2026–27 season:
- ABRYSVO®: September 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027
- Beyfortus® and ENFLONSIA™: October 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027
Although ordering will open before the administration period, providers should not begin administering RSV products until the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) official administration start dates.
Administration Timing
ABRYSVO® is recommended for pregnant individuals (who have not previously been vaccinated with ABRYSVO®) at 32 through 36 weeks gestation to protect infants from RSV-related lower respiratory tract infections in their first 6 months of life.
Beyfortus® (nirsevimab) is recommended for infants younger than 8 months of age who are born during or are entering their first RSV season as well as for some children (ages 8 months through 19 months) who are at increased risk for severe RSV disease and entering their second RSV season. This monoclonal antibody provides immediate protection against RSV and lasts at least 5 months.
ENFLONSIA™ (clesrovimab) is recommended for neonates and infants younger than 8 months of age who are born during or entering their first RSV season and who are not protected through maternal RSV vaccination.
Most infants will need protection from either maternal RSV vaccination or infant immunization, but not both. However, in some cases, such as when a baby is born less than two weeks after maternal immunization, Beyfortus® would also be recommended.

Ordering Considerations
- Initial ordering and shipping will open on August 3, 2026, for all three RSV products. Place all orders through NCIR.
- Although administration does not begin in August, we ask you to consider ordering in August to avoid distribution bottlenecks when COVID-19 and influenza vaccines launch for respiratory season.
- We do not anticipate shortages this season, however, we receive a monthly allocation of doses from CDC. If allocations are out, RSV vaccine orders may be held or declined until more doses become available. Place smaller orders more frequently to avoid surpassing the routine allocation.
- If you request ENFLONSIA™ (clesrovimab) in 10-pack units and sufficient supply is unavailable, your order may be fulfilled with 1-pack units instead.
- When ordering maternal ABRYSVO®:
- VFC is only available as 1 KIT in 1 CARTON .5mL in 1 VIAL (NDC 00069-0344-01)
- 317 VFA is only available as 10 KIT in 1 CARTON .5mL in 1 VIAL (NDC 00069-2465-10)
- Doses obtained from the North Carolina Immunization Program (NCIP) are for eligible patients only. Privately purchased stock must be used for fully insured or non-eligible patients.
