This dashboard shares immunization data for North Carolina kindergarteners. You can check county data, rates for specific schools and trends over several years. What is "immunization status"?
To learn what vaccines are required to start kindergarten, visit Vaccine Requirements for School.
The dashboard updates annually in May with data from the previous school year.

About the Data: Schools self-report data each fall using the Annual K-12 Immunization Report, as mandated by N.C. G.S. 130A-155. The Immunization Branch does not validate the data. Visit the Data Notes tab for more details.
Understanding Immunization Status
Kindergarteners are each classified as one of the following statuses:
- Up to Date: Students who received all required immunizations for kindergarten entry by day 30 of enrollment.*
- Provisionally Enrolled: Students on a doctor certified catch-up schedule for one or more required immunizations, receiving vaccine doses at minimum medically approved intervals.
- Exempt: Students with a religious or medical exemption for one or more vaccines.
- Not Up to Date: Students missing one or more required immunizations for kindergarten enrollment with no exemption on file as of day 30 of enrollment. If a student received required vaccines after day 30, it is not reflected here.
*This 30-day deadline was extended for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 and 2023-24 school years due to environmental factors.
