Dear Providers,

This message is to remind you that COVID-19 vaccine ordering is open. We ask all providers to place orders and complete the accompanying survey to support vaccine access in your community.

VFC Providers are no longer required to stock the COVID-19 vaccine; however, it is strongly recommended that each site maintain a minimum supply to ensure patients who wish to receive the vaccine have access when needed. Maintaining vaccine availability helps support equitable access for all individuals and continues to protect our communities from COVID-19.

Vaccination remains the most effective means of protection against severe COVID-19 illness, hospitalization, and death. Ensuring vaccine access at all provider locations helps protect vulnerable populations and supports overall community health.

Action Needed: Complete the COVID-19 Vaccine Survey

All providers should complete the survey, even if your facility is not currently offering COVID-19 vaccines.

This survey will help us:

  • Identify which facilities are providing COVID-19 vaccines
  • Determine populations your facility currently serves
  • Understand barriers that have influenced decisions not to offer COVID-19 vaccination

This information is critical for identifying gaps in coverage and planning equitable access for all children. We will also use the survey data to develop a COVID-19 Vaccine Finder, making it easier for parents to locate vaccination sites.

Provider Communication Resources

For providers or staff who encounter challenges discussing COVID-19 vaccination with patients, vaccine discussion guides are available on our website.  These resources include materials such as How to Talk to Parents About Vaccines (PDF), which provide evidence-based strategies and communication tools to support effective, patient-centered vaccine conversations.
