Important Update: New NCIR Implementation Date Postponed

After careful consideration, the launch of the new NCIR system planned for late July has been postponed.

Dear NCIR Providers, 

The North Carolina Immunization Program (NCIP) is committed to ensuring a successful transition to the new North Carolina Immunization Registry (NCIR) for providers, staff, and the patients you serve. 

After careful consideration, the launch of the new NCIR system planned for late July has been postponed.  

Our priority is to deliver a modernized system that enhances your daily workflows, improves efficiency, and supports your ability to continue providing high-quality care with minimal disruption. Over the past several months, many of you have shared valuable feedback regarding training, workflow changes, and the timing of implementation. That feedback, combined with our ongoing evaluation of the system, reinforced that additional time is needed to further refine the system, enhance the provider experience, and ensure the new NCIR is ready to meet the needs of North Carolina. 

We recognize this is one of the busiest times of the year for many practices. As we establish a new launch date, we are carefully considering seasonal demand, practice workflows, and provider feedback to help ensure timing that supports statewide readiness and a smooth transition across the provider community.  

Vaccine Ordering Update 

Providers may continue to place vaccine orders through the current NCIR system. The previously planned ordering pause for 6/30 has been cancelled. 

Continue Preparing for the NCIR Transition

 While we finalize the new implementation timeline, we encourage providers to continue preparing by:
