If a test or symptom suggests cervical cancer, your doctor will order more tests.
Diagnosis Tests
- Colposcopy: Your provider uses a magnifying tool to see the cervix closely.
- Biopsy: Your provider removes a small piece of tissue to check under a microscope.
Treatment Options
- Surgery: Removes the tumor and possibly part or all of the cervix, uterus or ovaries
- Radiation therapy: High-energy rays kill cancer cells
- Chemotherapy: Medicines kill cancer cells or stop them from growing
Catching cervical cancer early makes treatment easier and more effective.
