2025 NCDHHS Vaccines for Children (VFC) Virtual Conference

The 2025 NCDHHS VFC Virtual Conference on March 6, 2025 was a wonderful day of learning for VFC providers. The recording link for the entire conference is now available for you to enjoy at no cost. Note this recording is an educational resource only and will not provide any continuing education credits or contact hours. However, it will fulfill the VFC training requirements for vaccine coordinators. You will be able to access handouts via this link. If you could not join us for the virtual event, this recording will

  1. Identify new approaches to promote and deliver immunizations.
  2. Apply successful strategies and best practices to your vaccine management.
  3. Describe school immunization trends and changes coming to NCIR.

VFC Annual Training Requirements for Coordinators

To fulfill the annual training requirement for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, designated primary coordinators and backup coordinators must complete training each calendar year. Training can be completed in one of the following ways:

  1. Complete the Vaccines for Children (VFC) and the Vaccine Storage and Handling modules of the "You Call the Shots" series. CE credit is offered for each module.
  2. Complete the Storage and Handling Refresher Test and the VFC Refresher Test. Experienced healthcare professionals familiar with VFC and federal storage and handling requirements can opt to take the refresher test to demonstrate their knowledge. CE credits will not be awarded for completing the refresher tests.
  3. Attend a virtual or in-person NCIP-sponsored conference.

This training completion must be reported each year during recertification or during the provider profile collection. The agreement and profile include a section where you can indicate whether the VFC coordinator and backup coordinator have completed the required training and specify which training option was completed.

Documenting Staff Education

To document staff education, the NCIP has provided a roster for providers to keep onsite for each staff member. This roster may be requested during a VFC compliance site visit.

If you have questions, contact the help desk at 1-877-873-6247.
