North Carolina Immunization Registry (NCIR)

Health care providers use the NCIR system to track immunization (vaccine) records and keep them secure.

Help eligible NC kids get no-cost vaccines. Health care providers can get no-cost vaccines for eligible children through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. We've partnered with the federal VFC program to increase access to vaccines across our state.

NCIR Purposes and Goals

NCIR, the state's official source for immunization information:

  • Gives health care providers, schools and child care facilities timely access to complete, accurate and relevant immunization data.
  • Assists in the evaluation of a child's immunization status and identify children who need (or are past due for) immunizations.
  • Assists communities in assessing their immunization coverage and identifying areas of under-immunization.
  • Fulfills federal and state immunization reporting needs.
